Toys "R" Us promotes two merchandising executives

Wayne, N.J. — Toys "R" Us has promoted two executives within its U.S. merchandising division.
Richard Barry has been named senior vice president, chief merchandising officer. He will oversee all merchandising initiatives for U.S. brands, including Toys "R" Us and Babies "R" Us stores nationally and the FAO Schwarz flagship store in New York. Barry, who joined Toys "R" Us in 1985 as a part-timer in the United Kingdom, was most recently vice president, general merchandising manager for the company, where he oversaw the learning and electronics and entertainment categories. Barry reports to Jerry Storch, chairman and CEO.
Lisa Harnisch has been promoted to senior vice president, general merchandising manager for toys, where she will be responsible for the core toy, seasonal and learning product categories. Harnisch was most recently vice president, general merchandising manager for core toy and seasonal. Harnisch, who joined Toys "R" Us as a buyer in 2002, was named 2011 Wonder Woman of the Year in the retail category by the Women in Toys association. She reports to Barry.
