CPSC to host small business presentations

Washington — The Consumer Product Safety Commission will host several presentations, both in person and via webcasts, aimed at small businesses, starting today.
This afternoon, at 1 p.m. EST, Small Business Ombudsman Neal Cohen will be speaking to members of the Real Diaper Industry Assn. via webcast. The presentation addresses the children's product safety rules applicable to manufacturers of children's cloth diapers. At 4 p.m. on Feb. 2 and 3, Cohen will be speaking to attendees of the International Toy Fair in Nuremberg, Germany. The presentation addresses the U.S. regulatory requirements for toy manufacturers and importers in addition to the requirements to qualify as a small batch manufacturer. From 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m on Feb. 14, Cohen, along with CPSC Chairman Inez Moore Tenenbaum, will be speaking to attendees of the Toy Fair 2012 in New York. The presentation also addresses the U.S. regulatory requirements for toy manufacturers and importers, the requirements to qualify as a small batch manufacturer, and will also highlight certain agency priorities in 2012. The presentation will take place in Hall E at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
From Feb. 28 to March 2, various CPSC staff, including Cohen, will be attending and participating in presentations at the International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organization's 2012 Annual Meeting and Training Symposium in Orlando, Fla.
