SAINTE-CROIX, Quebec — South Shore Furniture will add cribs to its offerings of assembled and ready-to-assemble bedroom furniture at this week's Canadian Home Furnishings Market.
![]() South Shore is expanding its baby furniture offers with cribs that will convert into toddler’s beds. This espresso-finished model is designed to complement the company’s existing Savannah and Angel furniture collections. |
The case goods specialist said its team has developed a crib that can be turned into a toddler bed as the child grows. Since it also produces baby furniture pieces such as changing tables and chests, adding cribs seemed the next logical step, officials said.
As with the changing tables and chests, the cribs will be offered in white, cherry and espresso finishes.
"Our changing tables and drawer chests were already selling well thanks to the baby boom in recent years, but we expect better results with a more comprehensive offering," said Sophie Drouin, South Shore director of marketing. "It just makes life easier for parents-to-be shopping for furniture for their future baby."
The white crib is a match for South Shore's existing Savannah and Heavenly collections, while the espresso complements Savannah and Angel. The cherry crib is intended to round out the Heavenly furniture group.
Drouin said the new cribs also were subjected to a battery of tests to meet current safety standards. All wood and MDF components meet the industry's standards.
In Toronto, South Shore will be in Hall 1 of the International Centre in space 1117. The company also will show the new cribs at the Las Vegas Market, which opens Jan. 30.
