Marvel has entered licensing deals with Delta to develop a line of furniture featuring both the movie look and styling of an array of Marvel franchises, including "The Avengers" movie slated to hit theaters May 4, Spider-Man (classic comic styles), Marvel Comics Heroes (Retro collection) and Marvel's Super Hero Squad.

Delta's core line will include beds, nightstands, chests, chairs, shelving units and desks, as well as a line of infant strollers. Price points range from $34.99 for a multi-bin storage set to $59.99 for a toddler bed. Delta products will be available at mass market retailers next month.

Marvel also has a licensing deal with DreamSeat, which will produce a collection of Marvel-themed interchangeable chair panels for its patented XZipit system, which allows users to personalize their chairs by zipping logo panels in and out of furniture including recliners, office chairs, video game rockers, club chairs and other items.

The initial DreamSeat line is now available, predominantly on the XZipit website, for $79. The DreamSeat chair panels will also be sold in furniture stores such as La Z Boy.

"The furniture category is an important growth area and one that enables the Marvel brand to garner huge exposure in people's homes," said Paul Gitter, Marvel Entertainment president of consumer products for North America. "Our characters - which represent strength and durability - perfectly align with the core essences of quality furniture. Working with an industry leader like Delta affords us an incredible opportunity to make a huge statement in the category and additionally open new retail channels for the Marvel brand. While Delta will be the true foundation of our furniture program, we are also focused on finding partners who can provide unique new ways to showcase the Marvel brand."
