Newport Cottages revamps Web site, offers Quick Ship

Riverside, Calif.-based Newport Cottages recently launched its redesigned Web site, www.newportcottages.com.

"We were having a large number of consumers calling our office inquiring where to find retailers in their area and trying to gather information about our product," said Jessica Guerrero, vice president of sales. "We decided to re-design our entire Web site and used those key questions as a guide."

Site visitors now are able to view all of the high-end, benchmade furniture collections and they can print specification sheets, which include style information and dimensions as well as download the entire catalog and reference guide.

Picture Books, which include room shots, color options and more are sold on the site as well, giving consumers design ideas for their homes.

Other site features include a dealer locator and a photo gallery.

Aside from focusing on the Web site, the company also has been working on increasing production to improve its lead times. This year's 40% increase in sales has prompted Newport Cottages to ramp up production while still controlling costs.

To that end, Newport Cottages will be offering a Quick Ship program on its most popular collections starting at the ABC Expo this month.

"Our plan is to have these items in stock and unfinished ready for a turnaround time of approximately four weeks," Guerrero said. "We are excited because this Quick Ship special will allow our retailers to accommodate the last minute shoppers."
