Glenna Jean shows new brand

Upscale crib bedding and accessories manufacturer Glenna Jean unveiled its lower-priced Sweet Potato line during last month's ABC Expo in Las Vegas.
Glenna Kramer, president of the Petersburg, Va.-based company, said the line is directed at moms who want a stylish look at a more moderate cost. "It's more affordably priced and very minimalist," she said.
Kramer said Glenna Jean's bedding is known for its fashionable designs, and the Sweet Potato division continues that theme with a more contemporary twist. The line has eight collections in a variety of mod, mature patterns: Hop Scotch, with a dot motif in pink and shades of brown; Neutron, a graphic block design in vivid red, gray and black; Element, with a zigzag-style pattern in green and brown; Domain, a pattern of blue, orange, green and brown blocks; Mud Puddle, which features either pink or blue swirls mixed with chocolate; Flow, a pink and brown group with an oblong-shaped motif; and Breeze, the same pattern as Flow except with a blue and brown colorway.
Four-piece sets in the group retail at $199, compared to about $300 for some of the lower-priced groups in the Glenna Jean line, Stu Kramer said.
Sweet Potato does not have an extensive accessory lineup, but Stu said that customers could dress up the bedding with accessories such as lamps and chairs from the Glenna Jean brand.
Glenna Jean also showed bedding sets in full sizes, a new category for the company. The full-size groups will be offered in three collections — Isabella, Mod Squad and Scribbles Pink, the top-selling Glenna Jean nursery groups last year. Glenna said the new bedding is only offered in full now because they are designed to tie in with convertible cribs, which convert to full-size beds.
Neutron is one of the eight collections in Glenna Jean's new lower-priced Sweet Potato line.
