Karel to launch furniture, accessories trade show in Syracuse, N.Y.

AVENTURA, Fla. — Regional furniture and accessories market producer Karel Exposition Management is adding a show in Syracuse, N.Y., next June.
KEM President Larry Karel said the Empire State Home Furnishings Representatives Assn. of Upstate New York will sponsor the new market, scheduled for June 8-9. It will be the first furniture show to be held in upstate New York in more than 25 years, Karel said.
The Empire State HFRA plans to host a dinner for all attendees that will feature a nationally known furniture industry speaker. Details will be announced soon, the group said.
Karel also announced that Ashley Furniture Inds. has confirmed it will exhibit at the first Syracuse show. “Ashley Furniture has always been synonymous with quality and service and we are honored that they will have a presence,” he said.
“We feel the time is right to initiate a regional show that can be attended by all of our retailers with minimal cost and time commitment,” said Marc Oleshansky, senior marketing specialist at Ashley, which will display its Signature Design by Ashley line.
Karel also noted that Ashley is returning to its upcoming show in Edison, N.J., set for Feb. 7-9.
Karel Exposition Management has been producing regional trade shows since 1952. The company promotes it shows by noting that “for less than a tank of gas, you can shop the market and return home the same day.”
