BabyUniverse goes public

Brooke Showell -- Kids Today, 9/1/2005 12:00:00 AM

BabyUniverse, a leading online retailer of brand-name baby, toddler and maternity products based here, announced last month the pricing of its initial public offering of 2 million shares of its common stock at $9.50 per share, all of which will be sold by the company. GunnAllen Financial and Wedbush Morgan Securities are the co-lead managers of the offering.

In connection with the offering, some shareholders have granted the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to 300,000 additional shares to cover over-allotments. A registration statement relating to the securities has been declared effective by the Securities and Exchange Commission. The company's common stock is now traded on the American Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol "BUN."

BabyUniverse, established in 1997 as a one-stop shop for new and expectant parents, offers more than 33,500 products from more than 450 manufacturers in categories such as baby, toddler and maternity accessories, apparel, bedding, furniture, toys and gifts. Brands include Graco, Carters, Lambs & Ivy, Stokke, Tiny Love, Maclaren and Evenflo. For more information, call (877) 615-BABY or visit www.babyuniverse.com.
