Designs for preteen girls put focus on texture, bold patterns

This dragonfly tote is part of Fiesta's new Fashion Fun Tween totes collection, and is also available in a butterfly version. The 15.5-inch-by-10-inch tote has a single over-the-shoulder strap, so it can be used as a sling bag. Available in pink or blue, it has a retail price point of $9.99.

Majestic Rugs has a full line of tween accent rugs in lots of themes, from sassy to sports to sweet.

Company C's Rio Lily dec pillow, which features shades of azure blue and green, is a funky addition to a tropical-themed bedroom. The pillow retails for $35.

These ultra-soft daisy pillows from Bestever are available in the eye-popping colors of pink, aqua and yellow, and at 17 inches, they are great for lounging. The pillows retail for $12 each.

This chair and ottoman is part of the Slumber Girls line from Kidz by Dezign, and features black and white polka dot cotton fabric trimmed with raspberry flowers and piping.

Prime Source Accessories recently expanded its line of tween room décor, including items in this Princess collection.

The new Fancy Pals Dress Up collections from Aurora fit both Pet Carrier Pets and Mini Flopsies. The cheerleader collection (shown) features an outfit complete with visor and pompoms. Many other sports, themes and fashions are available.

This lamp, from Century Lighting, fits well with any princess-themed room, and is available in the hot tween shade of lilac.

The Sassy Gals Memo Holder is from Flowers Inc. Balloons, and is a perfect way to hold memos, photos or other tween paraphernalia, especially in a room decorated in ultra-trendy pink and black. Retail price point is $12.95.

The Inspired Collection, new from Traditions by Pamela Kline, features shaggy dec pillows and shades of melon and lilac, and is a collaboration with Lisa Bogatin of New York's Kids Supply Co.

These lumi floor lamps from Creative Motion Inds. feature a contemporary design and handmade shades. Available in pink/white, pink/blue and yellow/blue, they retail for $48.

THT Kids' new Color Jam collection for preteens includes this lantern with a funky circle print.
