International Playthings, Taggies to develop infant toys

Staff -- Kids Today, 1/1/2006 12:00:00 AM

Developmental toy manufacturer International Playthings has partnered with Taggies to develop a line of infant toys featuring the company's patented multi-textured looped ribbon tags.

The line, dubbed Taggies by Earlyears, will include developmental toys such as soft blocks, soft nesting/stacking cups, stacking rings, activity quilts, activity mirrors and soft travel toys. Taggies, which was started six years ago, currently offers blankets, books, pillows, plush toys and more.

Products in the Taggies by Earlyears line will retail between $10 and $60. International Playthings will introduce the line at Toy Fair next month, with retail distribution to begin in April. Both International Playthings and Taggies will sell the line via their Web sites.

"We at International Playthings are excited to partner with Taggies to produce high-quality, developmental playthings for infants," said Ted Kiesewetter, president of the company.

Said Julie Dix, founder of Taggies, "The partnership between Taggies Inc. and IPI is just perfect — a blending of the comfort and tactile stimulation that only the Taggies-patented concept can provide with the outstanding learning and play opportunities for which International Playthings' products are famous."
