Powell debuts Web site designed for consumers

Powell Co., maker of youth, occasional, dining and accent furniture, has launched a Web site for consumers designed to help with researching products and finding retailers.
The home page of the site, www.powellcompany.com, features a slideshow with room shots of Powell's newest lines, including the Little Miss Matched girls' group. Consumers can research the furniture collections by category or name. Site visitors can click on thumbnail images for every product, which will enlarge and include a description including measurements, material and assembly. Consumers also have the ability to order replacement parts.
Visitors can search for a retailer in their area, who can provide product pricing and availability information in real time with PowellPro. Powell is asking its retailers to link the site to their own consumer Web site, and dealers can request the Powell logo for their own sites by e-mailing marketing@powellcompany.com.
“We know consumers are doing more and more pre-shopping on the Internet, so we wanted to make it as simple and engaging as possible to find information on our latest products,” said Tom Liddell, senior vice president of national sales for Powell, “And with the convenience of the 'Dealer Locator,' a consumer can use our Web site to find a product she likes, measure her room to see if it will fit, and then find the nearest retailer who carries it. That means walking into one of our dealer stores already educated and sold on the product. It's a win-win situation for everyone.”
We would love your feedback!
